The 25th Circuit Court, Drug Court and the 96th District Court, DUI/Sobriety Court are
supervised treatment programs for non violent offenders who abuse or are dependent
upon any controlled substance or alcohol.
The Drug Court’s primary population is felony level offenders with an underlying problem
of addiction. Sobriety Court’s primary population is repeat offense drunk drivers.
Both of these treatment courts are non-adversarial and are designed to reduce
recidivism while providing a comprehensive continuum of therapeutic interventions.
These intensive programs consist of five phases, each a minimum of 90 days in
duration. Interventions include early and intense substance abuse treatment, community
support groups, frequent and random drug/alcohol testing and use of appropriate
sanctions and incentives.

Each treatment court is led by a designated Judge who maintains close oversight of
each case through regular biweekly status hearings with participants. The designated
Judge also leads the Drug Court and Sobriety Court teams which are comprised of the
Assistant Prosecutor, Probation Officer, Case Manager, law enforcement officer,
treatment providers, a defense attorney and other relevant service providers.
